cjam93 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Hey guys so I have recently picked up a *** Crazy Blitz. I really like it other than it comes up very fast. I was wondering what I could do to make it raise up a little slower? Any ideas? Thanks! Quote
Ozark_Basser Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Use a heavier, denser baitbait for a trailer. Keitechs are pretty dense. Quote
bassinyea Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Use a heavier, denser baitbait for a trailer. Keitechs are pretty dense. This. Obviously the heavier the bait you have will stay down better. Don't own any of these but the smaller the blade on the jig is, the tighter action and deeper it will run. Quote
Ozark_Basser Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Taking the skirt off will probably help too. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted May 1, 2015 Super User Posted May 1, 2015 If you're looking to fish these baits "deep" and that's a relative term as the design itself is somewhat counter productive, check out the V&M Pacemaker Ledge Blade - It comes in 3/4 & 1 oz sizes and is made to fish below what most lighter blades baits are routinely not able to maintain. LunkerFisher Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Thinner diameter line may help combat some of the lift when reeling, as it is displacing less water. In practice, I'm not exactly sure if it works, but on paper it does. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted May 1, 2015 Super User Posted May 1, 2015 I've never done it but if I was wanting to get one deeper them I'd try a weight on the line . Quote
CDMeyer Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Try a heavier trailer. I have had the same problem that you had, and the vest way I could fix it was a denser so it's still small but heavier trailer Quote
bankguy315 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Bend the tip of the blade back towards the bait, this will help it ride lower. At least it does with fogys Quote
bigfishbk86 Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 Peg an 1/8 or 1/4oz bullet sinker on your line directly above your bait. Don't overthink it Quote
shanksmare Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Bend the tip of the blade back towards the bait, this will help it ride lower. At least it does with fogys This will help with any flat bladed chatterbait. Quote
Super User CWB Posted May 3, 2015 Super User Posted May 3, 2015 Wrap some lead solder around the hook shank. Cheap and easy to do. Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted May 3, 2015 Super User Posted May 3, 2015 Rage Blade Yep this, designed not to ride up the water column. In fact it was designed to be crawled on bottom or slow rolled on/near bottom. Chatterbaits in general are designed to be fished s-l-o-w-l-y Quote
