Super User iabass8 Posted May 1, 2015 Super User Posted May 1, 2015 I see Shane Ray failing a drug test or two. Why is Carolina sticking with that. They need some youth. they picked up Toddman for that reason I would guess. They are still high on Stewart after his strong season last year of being mostly healthy. Tolbert isn't going anywhere either. They also have a good run game in their QB when healthy. Wasting a pick on a RB this early for them wouldn't have made any sense when that type of RB isn't their MO. They could very well pick a RB later on for youth but I can't see it being for anything besides depth or like you said, youth behind Stewart and Tolbert/Toddman. I almost feel like DAL might not take a RB here.... Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted May 1, 2015 Super User Posted May 1, 2015 OH I don't understand DAL...I guess they think Amir or TJ will be there on the turn...? Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted May 1, 2015 Super User Posted May 1, 2015 Eh. i guess to be fair, DAL defense was awful. Pick makes sense but.... Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted May 1, 2015 Super User Posted May 1, 2015 Nothing too exciting so far...i think the best pick so far is the skins picking up that big old corn fed, farmer strong lineman..... I think he will make an excellent addition to the line , Iowa has a ton of running plays , screens , not much different than the schemes Gruden likes , his performance in double team has been outstanding , the man has been a beast at tackle , the transition shouldn't be all that difficult I wouldn't think , I personally like the pick very much ! Jd_Phillips_Fishin Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 The time between picks is WAY too long, they need to shorten the clock Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 1, 2015 Author Super User Posted May 1, 2015 It's always 10 minutes in the first round and with the potential for trades and the like, it makes sense. I think they drop to 5 minutes in the second and third rounds and i want to say 2 or 3 after Quote
craww Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 It was weird talent pool this year, not many high end studs other than the wideouts. Dallas had 1st round grades on 14 guys. Really like the Gurley pick for STL. He's got some Marshawn Lynch qualities to him with another gear. Think the Usc kid went a little early for his talent to philly, but the little quick slants fit his style and he'll be productive. Quote
Super User flyfisher Posted May 1, 2015 Author Super User Posted May 1, 2015 I think today's draft is going to be more interesting than yesterday. And as much of an NFL junkie that I am, I will be watching, well probably working on my laptop while it is on TV like i did yesterday Quote

He's an amazing talent but his landing spot was one of the worst places he could have gone...STL line is really bad, STL QB situation is bad, the receiving core is bad, and they face SEA and ARI twice. White Stacy is obviously gone and Cunningham will have little effect, I doubt Mason is going anywhere. I hope he takes off but I hate his spot in STL. Quote

I believe Gurley is a once in a decade talent that went after a lot of guys who may bust. Talent wise he's special and can help put a young roster with a lot of talent over the top. With that defensive front and a stud back stl is very dangerous in the next few years and matches up well in that division. The great ones like Peterson, Foster, lynch don't necessarily have very good lines either, true alpha backs like that can produce without them. They're line is actially talented and on the upswing, they just need to stay healthy. The no 2 overall pick last year greg robinson moved to LT and started to excel at the end of the season. The RT, barksdale was solid also. Former 2nd rd pick saffold is coming on at guard, and Jones the former outland trophy winner at Alabama is improving if healthy. Not sure how foles will fair without chip kelly's offense though. I agree with you on the receiver core, its pretty bad Quote
Super User Darren. Posted May 2, 2015 Super User Posted May 2, 2015 This draft hasn't wowed me at all. That said, I'm not overly impressed with my Bills' selections. But hey, the moves they made this off season WERE impressive to me, so the draft is naturally a letdown, LOL. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted May 2, 2015 Super User Posted May 2, 2015 The Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots - managed to get Malcom Brown - DT At 6'2" & 319 lb - there's plenty of optimism that he'll be able to replace at least some of the space & high level of play vacated by the veteran Vince Wilfork. I agree he is what seems like the next AP. should be exciting.i really hope fischer babies him at the beginning. Quote
