Lacustrine Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Getting back to Duckett. I've read they are lighter than what they are rated. So a MH is more like a MM. Is that true? I have not used a 7' medium rod besides my Duckett, but it does feel light. My brothers MH BPS Bionic Blade feels much stiffer than mine. Quote
WPCfishing Posted May 5, 2015 Author Posted May 5, 2015 Does any one own the Terry Scroggins White Ice rod? Can you tell me about it? How much better is the White Ice over the Micro Magic Pro? Quote
Theangler1 Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I can't vouch for white ice but I recently bought a 7' heavy micro magic pro and wow. It is the best rod I've ever fished with. Super sensitive and combined with a Lews team lite makes it incredibly light. You mentioned hearing the rods coming a little light. I would agree with this, but not to that extent. I would say my heavy is about a mh/h of a comparing rod brand such as a carbonlight. I would definetly recommend the micro magic pro. You won't be disappointed. Quote
Lacustrine Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I figured there would be some threads about them. I suppose many fellow bass anglers on here just aren't interested in them. Enough talk about Duckett now? Quote
SenkoGuru Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I own every one of the White Ice Series except for the Cranking models( I do not do much cranking around here) I can answer any questions you may have on the Terry Scroggins model. The 6'10 is a great all purpose rod and can throw many baits. Nice tip and good action. The 7'8 XX Heavy I use for Punching and this rod is a power house, Very heavy action, with just enough tip to work the bait. If you're looking for a very powerful rod for punching this is the one. It is not a broom stick but it is as close as you can get with out buying a broom. The White ice is a little better than the micro magic. Stronger rod with a little different action. Quote
Diggy Posted May 9, 2015 Posted May 9, 2015 I picked up a 7ft heavy MMP, my 1st. Used it today with some braid and a 1/2 oz football jig. Felt pretty good. Caught a 2.5lb fish that I had to hand line up the spillway wall. This is probably the 1st time Ive bought a 7ft rod in over 2years. They don't make a 7ft3 heavy so I settled on the 7ft. Quote
Chris186 Posted May 10, 2015 Posted May 10, 2015 I have two, the 7' micro magic crankin rod, and a 7'3 heavy ghost, I use the ghost for jigs, and the cankin rod for the obvious. I absolutlely love the micro magic, so much infact that I bought another one, its on its way right now. I really like the ghost, my only complaint with it would be its not as sensitive as I like for bottom contact, but I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one of those either. I just may end up switching to all Ducketts, with the exception on my one Megabass rod. 1 Quote
