Got both and hey are both great rods. I like the Irod Bama rig rod over the Powell Bama rig rod, but prefer Powell overall. The 723, 714, and 775 are sweet!

Never used an irod, but none of my Powells have ever let me down. The balance is spot on with the 4 Endurances that I have owned. Not as light as my Dobyns overall but balanced better. I have two 723's and it will be a sad day if something happens to either one. They're two of my favorite rods. Sadly that series has been phased out for the new max 3d.

Powell rods are great! Got to use mine only a bit, but so far I love them, I own A max 3d, inferno, and diesel, as earlier stated, they are super balanced, pretty light, and extremely sensitive. Only think I'm not a fan of is that the rod doesnt have a full flex coat. Which lightens the rod up but jepordizes durability.

Thanks for all the responses, I have quite a few powells, maxe and endurances mostly. I just wanted an opinion on the other options in that price range.
