Super User Catch and Grease Posted April 26, 2015 Super User Posted April 26, 2015 First off the hook itself is great, caught my PB on it today in fact... But every time I caught a fish the lure keeper would get ripped off or pushed all the way down to the hook bend, does this happen to everyone? Did I perhaps leave them in the sun to long and make the plastic holding them on go bad? Love these hooks though they are very strong and SHARP! Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted April 26, 2015 Super User Posted April 26, 2015 The hook keeper is just a piece of wire whipped onto the shank then shrink tubed. I love these hooks as well. Before I fish them I superglue the hook holders as to give them a bit of extra bite to the hook as soon as I get them. I found the more they slide the worse it becomes. The glue method seems to help so far. 1 Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted April 26, 2015 Author Super User Posted April 26, 2015 Thanks for the tip! I'll go buy some super glue and try that next time. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted April 26, 2015 Super User Posted April 26, 2015 Turn the hook so the drop of glue can run down into the gap between the baitholder and the hook shank and then I rub a drop on the oher side as well. Blow on for a bit and then hang to dry. 1 Quote
Super User Montanaro Posted April 26, 2015 Super User Posted April 26, 2015 Buy mustad denny brauer flipping hook and not worry about it. Trokar makes a great hook too but more expensive Quote
