Just purchased a new spinning reel( Stradic FJ) and do not want to use braid. Would like to use 8lb. test. What would you recommend given the line manageability, memory etc. associated with spinning reels? Will be used for light cranks tied direct and occasional drop shot.

I'll second robster80 on McCoy Copoly. Nicest line out of any Mono, Copoly, or Flouro I've ever used. Check the reviews on Tackle Warehouse for McCoy Mean Green and Extra Clear Copoly, not a bad one in the bunch. Brian.

McCoy is great on spinning reels. Get the 8 or 10 in Clear Blue Fluorescent. I don't like green because I can't see it as good.

as long as it is 2500 or larger but if the 1000 size,,,,, 8lb mono, copoly, or fluoro will leave you looking for better performance. If it is a 2500 as size matters not model, then I would probably go with Tatsu Fluoro, or if mono I would go with Trilene XL, but with all the comments I've herd lately on the Mcoy I would have to try it since I never have, but Trilene XL is what I would be comparing it to since I have been pleased with it in the past. Personally any reel I own would have 832 Sufix for it's mainline,,,,JTWIDI
