I'm headed up to the southern part of Ontario in the first part of June for a 10 day trip. I'll be around the Smith Falls/Perth area at a few different lakes. I was curious if you guys still have ice up there or not? If not, does anyone know the water temperatures so far?

Thanks in advance!

No ice on most of my lakes, I'm about 4 hours away from Smith Falls but I wouldn't imagine there would be any ice. Water right now is still pretty cold, couldn't buy a panfish the other day, even using 1/64th oz hair jigs, but I would imagine the bite would pick up in the next few weeks. You're in zone 18 up there, so I don't think bass is open until 3rd Saturday in June, but there should be great opportunities for Walleye, Muskie and Pike. Be sure to check the regulations before you go up, and have a fun trip!

Thanks for the info. If you happen to get a water temperature  at any of your local lakes in the next few weeks, I'd love to hear from you!

I am about 4 hours west of there and water temps right now are in the 60-65 degree range. Lots of perch and bluegill in 1-4 feet of water and the bass and pike are following them in. Should be a great time for pike, musky, and walleye since bass season won't be open yet. Just think bass spawning temps and you should be pretty close.

Thanks for the report. I'm getting very anxious to go. It seems you guys are right about where we are here in Pennsylvania. Water around here is between 66-73 depending on the lake.

Well, my grandfather is up there right now with a few of his buddies. Can't wait to hear a report back from him. I'll be leaving on the 6th.

The fishing is definitely heating up. Musky are moving up shallower, walleye are a bit deeper but still catchable and panfish are all over the place.
