Hey all,

I was wondering what you all keep in your kayak. Like, tools, random gear, and all of your fishing gear, plus your kayak and any customizations/mods you've done to it. I've kayaked before plenty of times, just never fished from one though. Have paddleboard fished though... that's an experience

I usually have my Rod, a couple of plano boxes, something to cut braid with, life jacket, occasional 3 yeard old, and a cooler. I carry the minimum when I kayak fish.

1. Humminbird 346c DI Fish Finder
2. Yakattack ParkNPole 6' Stakeout Pole (this actually helped me win a tournament last year as most of my competitors were getting blown all over the place by strong wind)
3. Milk crate with lid (for all my tackle) with 5 rod holders
4. 5 pound anchor, anchor line on a float, with a quick release

Milk crate with 3 rod holders. It has one more built-in, so that's 4 rods. Maybe one Plano 3700 box-I have 4 rods on the kayak so I'm probably covered or I can paddle back to the launch. A few bags of whatever soft plastics I think might work. A Playmate cooler if I think I want to take some home. A beer or two, a paddle and me.

Oh...and pliers and clippers. If I remember. I dropped a pair of pliers last time out.

I have 2 Jackson cruise 12 kayaks

Both set up the same, almost.

Anchor trolleys, anchor, park-n-pole, 2 different rod holders, fish grip, net, paddle, black pack, several plano boxes with assorted stuff, how many depends on fresh or saltwater, PFD is a must! I keep stuff in there too. Always have a knife on me, everywhere. I usually take 2 rods when inshore, sometimes 3 if I am trolling. My phone in one of those waterproof pouch thingies. 2 pairs of pliers, long and short, and kickin bass, megastrike, or procure scents.

  1. Milk crate with all my tackle and 4 rod holders with rods
  2. Homemade bow mounted trolling motor
  3. Homemade rudder system for the stern of my yak
  4. Paddle
  5. Life jacket
  6. Anchor
  7. LOTS OF FOOD!!!!
  8. Lowrance 4-HDI
  9. Pliers, tools, and another rod holder up front
  10. Dry box with my wallet, phone etc

With all of these things on my kayak it gets really congested (especially being a SIK), so I really only have about 6 or 7 of the items on my kayak at one time. It all depending on the conditions and where I will be fishing and stuff like that.

I guess that depends on what type of species you are fishing for.....
