The Garmin Panoptix all-seeing sonar is unlike anything you’ve ever seen on the water.

You have to see it to believe it.  Click to check it out.

I just got good at reading my down scan. Good thing this is going to be way outside my price-point.

If you use one of the mid line units it's not much more than my HDI-10 with the side scan unit. You don't have to buy the $6,000 sonar. You are just buying a $1,500 transducer and using it on one of their compatable units.

I'm not impressed with the Elite 5 HDI I bought. Should have bought the Dragonfly.

Absolutely love my dragonfly 4 pro on yak. Thing is down right dirty

Glenn, saw it a few months ago and thought how long will it be before FLW and BASS prohibit it in their tournaments.

Why would it be banned? Too effective?

So what are we seeing. Two bass under a school of shad? Is this Garmins version of SI?

No, it's seeing fish in real time. In the picture, the purple streaks are the disturbance left behind as the fish (the two marks), swim towards the bottom (at least that is my understanding of it). Garmin has side imaging as well, and this is what it looks like when you find the mother of all shad schools.

That's amazing. Really impressive. I have to agree on the price comments though. Probably 4-5 yrs before your average angler will own one. Technology is incredible though.

How much for this? Is the transducer $1,500? What unit do you couple it to?
