I was in a tournament 2 years ago and the top 5 bags were from the Alabama rig. I have a Alabama rig, but I do not know where to throw it. Its loud. What kind of structure do you throw it in?

None. Unless you dont want it back. Great tool for suspended or schooling fish. Run it on bottom or around any structure and it will be a goner.

The Rig is easy to recover with a lure retriever, I have only lost a couple in heavy current.

I fish this presentation almost exclusively over deep structure in what might be considered

"open water". The presentation can be near the bottom, but not dragged on the floor.

To get back to Buck Perry terms, you can fish it around "structure"   Fishing it around "cover" isn't as good of an idea.  Roadwarrior is correct I think in that it is relatively easy to get an A-rig unstuck, either by getting on the other side of it and pulling or getting on top of it and using a lure retriever.  Wind can sometimes make this problematic.

Baby BBZ Shads, BBZ Shads, Mattlures U2 Gill(or similar swimbaits). Plastics, Keitech Swing Impact(Fats mostly). Getting them back from snags is "relatively" easy, back from cast offs,or breaks, not so much.
