My bass are extremely active in my part of Louisiana. Water temps are in the mid 70's, perfect for bass. So, I know when I ask questions people say "there are no rules in fishing" but as a general rule, can I catch bass on a texas rig plastic worm on the bottom or do I need to switch to a moving bait like a spinnerbait since the fish are so active?

Active bass can hit slower or reaction baits, it depends on what they want.  I have had days where the bass were really active on hitting texas rigged creature baits but crank baits and spinnerbaits brought no bites....so i guess what i am saying is, it all depends :)

Let the bass tell you what they want!  Try a Senko, Ned Rig, then I would try a T-rig or a C-Rig, Jig, then move to cranks, topwater, lipless cranks!  If active one of these will work or maybe all will. Wright now on Table Rock they hitting alot of different baits!!

Sure.. But if you know they are active, then how did you come to learn this? I fish plastics a lot, but who doesn't love a great crankbait bite? If they are in a horizontal bite, roll with the flow..

Yes, they work. Why wouldn't they? You can fish it more aggressively.

That's my most used rig. Fish active or not. It always produces

X2.

The texas rig flat out always works. I have caught bass on it in 35 degree water temperature and in 80 degree water temperature.

The Texas rig is about problem solving, not retrieve. It gets through cover that other baits would foul or get hung up in. If it works, use it.
