bassguytom Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I'm thinking about getting a new minnkota TM that is ipilot compatible for my river jet. Can I use my Hummingbird 386 with GPS with the ipilot? I only want to use the spot lock feature. Do I need to connect to a gps fish finder or does the ipilot have an internal gps? Any info. On this would be great. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted April 22, 2015 Super User Posted April 22, 2015 The iPilot has it's own built in GPS. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted April 22, 2015 Super User Posted April 22, 2015 The iPilot feature that uses a sonar connection is the iPilot Link. That takes a unit that is Ethernet capable. That feature uses the Lakemaster digital mapping to tell the motor to follow a map depth contour line. Quote
bassguytom Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 So if I buy the ipilot add on I do not need to hook up to a fish finder to use the spot lock? Quote

Super User Scott F Posted April 22, 2015 Super User Posted April 22, 2015 You do know that if you ad iPilot to a trolling motor that you lose the foot pedal. It will only operate with the hand operated remote control. Quote
