These past two weekends I've finally gotten the chance to get out on the water and after sitting out for the stupid time of the year most commonly refereed to as winter, it felt great! We didn't catch much the first weekend, but this last weekend we got into them pretty good. I'm just hoping this week long cold front isn't going to turn them back off again for the tourney next weekend.

Thanks guys, we had a blast.

Nice fish! That's a long pike.

Our neighbor was down there a few days before and caught a few over 40"! That one was our biggest of the day and it was in the upper 20's.

Where is that your located in Wisconsin? Like other cities? I go up once a year to lake chetac in Sawyer county. Fishing is amazing everywhere it seems in Wisconsin. Think Chetac is a grade A bass lake from what people tell me up there. But just was curious.

Well, as far as cities go I'm pretty much in the middle of nowhere haha. Even if you go by my address I'm technically a Conrath resident, but I have a Sheldon phone number, and yet I live closer to Holcombe than either of those. Going by other places you may have heard of, I'm a little over an hour south of Hayward, an hour north east of Eau Claire, and about 7 miles north of Holcombe, WI. Big Chetac is a pretty good bass lake. I'm roughly an hour south east of there. It'll be interesting to see how Chetac fares after the controlled weed kill they had out there this year. There's a lot of good lakes up that way though that are pretty good bass fisheries. Red Cedar, Grindstone, Round Lake, Murphy Flowage, and the list goes on.

She was. Poor girl must have had a rough life. Blind in one eye, big healed gash in her back and stomach, and part of her jaw was missing on the other side.

Yeah I wasn't sure if they was for sure doing the weed kill. Thats disappointing... hope it doesn't affect much. But yes I have fished Red Cedar. But never have birch lake. But im jealous you live up there lol. Great place with great fishing.

I didn't fish very late into the year up there, but it'll be interesting to see what it does to the fish and see just how much the grass was effected. It might make it a little better down the road since the amount of grass got to be a bit ridiculous at times. Birch might be worth a look if you're on Red Cedar. When do you usually come up?

I usually make a trip in early September. When its still fairly warm but getting cooler. But you know how the weather is lol. But have been in july and August but seems like i have the best success in September for w.e reason. Actually caught my pb on chetac with 6lbs. The fish in my picture isnt my personal best but it was taken there. Whats is the best time you think for around you is for bass. But love the pike too

That really depends. Spring is always good with everything moving up. In the fall they get grouped up a little more and you can get on them good when you run across a school. I'd say as long as it's not the dog days of summer you have potential for it to be at it's best though. Even then, I wouldn't consider it bad fishing. I caught this pair of twin 4's towards the end of August last year there.
