Rhino68W Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Just wondering if anyone has played around with the chicken rig at all. Look it up if you haven't heard of it, seems pretty neat. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 Looks like a bait rig for bottom fishing. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 I like the Donkey rig myself.. Quote
zeth Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I use it with Keitech Shad Impact. Rig it with Owner J LIght hooks. Spinning rod. Works well I call it the popcorn rig though. Dont like the name chicken rig and it kinda darts around and never falls in a predictable fasion. Quote
halochef Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 one fellow i know used a cooked fried chicken leg for bait! and not for catfish really true story Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 I like the Donkey rig myself.. I'd rather use the Donkey Punch... Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 22, 2015 Super User Posted April 22, 2015 A chicken rig is probably the fore runner of a drop shot rig. It has been used in saltwater for decades, primarily used with cut bait like squid or shrimp. A sabiki is pretty much the same thing too, it's used to catch live bait. Quote
Dogmatic Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Gary Yamamoto's "new" rig, Kut worm, center hooked, with a nail weight? ...or are you talking about the bait rig, which I've used, otherwise, I have not used Yamamoto's rig? Quote
