Super User F14A-B Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 I watched a minute.. Country has become anything but country music.. The word "pathetic" Comes to mind, at least for a lot of it.. 1 Quote
Matthew2000 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 The crap that comes out today is so stupid. I can't even listen to the radio anymore all of it is the same premise. Quote
aceman387 Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Anybody else catch the glimpse of Randy travis in the audience ? He looks like he has fallen on hard times. Quote

Catch 22 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 I saw Randy in concert at his prime.Fantastic show. Last nite he looked as to fall on his face any minute== sad. I think I have lived thru the best that country has to offer. Like so many other things in the USA, country has become diluted. Anyone listen to the Alice Cooper syndicated show in the evenings. Very entertaining to me. C22 EDIT== I didn`t realize that Randy had a serious stroke 2 yrs ago. That explains a lot. Sorry for the remark http://tasteofcountry.com/randy-travis-update-2015-acm-awards/ Quote

Super User Long Mike Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 C22, nice observation about the Awards sound system. I had the show piped through my stereo and was very disappointed with the sound quality. I suppose the producers didn't care, because they knew most folks would be listening through their crappy TV sound systems. As for the quality of country music in general I have to agree that there has been a gradual decline in the quality and originality in the music; especially among the male singers. It's almost like listening to different songs, sung by the same voice. With the exception of Taylor Swift (gag,) I really like most of the female singers out there. It's too bad that there are not more of them. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 I've seen some of the awards. Figured the sound wasn't so good as it was in such a HUGE arena. Not going to be to critical of country music as I like some of it. Some of it I don't and I've been listening for a long time. When I look and hear the sounds of my other choices on the radio country still sounds better...so have the option to press several buttons on the radio and I do. Best music to me though is being out on the water first thing in the morning and listening to the world wake up....and enjoying another day fishing. Quote
Super User Catch and Grease Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 There is some good country music coming out still. Its not ALL bad, but stuff like the crap Florida Georiga Line and Sam Hunt put out about smoking weed, and how tight their girlfriends jeans are is just plain stupid. 1 Quote

I agree, there is still good music coming out. I tend to actually like Florida Georgia Line (most of the time). You can't really slam them when you have Brantley Gilbert and Eric Church (Pretty sure Eric Church would give Willie Nelson a run for his money on the dope smoking) sing and do the same stuff. Money usually corrupts the moral high ground. Want to be rich and famous, just sing some bs that will sell. If not, there are a million others that can and will. Given the choice, I think they prefer their salary over most of ours. 1 Quote

Yup, after Kerosene, ( great eye candy vid ) I lost interest in her... Blake Shelton puts on a great show.. He maybe going the way of Hank Jr. With the whole booze thing, lol oh well..
