There is a 2003 Lowe 17' boat with a 50 hp Mercury  2 stroke for sale locally. I have had a fiberglass boat years ago and know a little about boats, but have never had an aluminum boat. The decks are aluminum so they should be ok. I'm just looking for what to look at on this boat. Obviously, cracks in the transom or other places. Is there anything else that would be bad and not feasible to repair that I should look for. I plan to check the compression on the motor and check the oil in the lower unit. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also, he is at $5000.  Is it worth the money if it is on good shape with minimal wear on the interior. I do know the boat is camo. Not preferred but I haven't found any fish yet that cared what color the boat was :laugh5: .  I hope the camo is factory installed and not put on late on a Friday night  .

I would give a good look at the trailer also. As far as the price, I would look up the NADA pricing on it and go from there. A lot also depends on where you are located. I sold a 2001 185 PT Tracker with a 50 Merc. on it a little over a year ago for just shy of $4K. It was in really good shape also.

I have a Lowe 17 ft Stryker and really like it. Its perfect for the weekend warrior and good on gas. My only complaint is there is no rod box, but it wasn't a deal breaker.
