Super User Senko lover Posted April 20, 2015 Super User Posted April 20, 2015 So I was reading a book on risk by Ben Carson. I really admire him and his approach to weighing risk has stuck with me since I read it. Can you imagine how many dumb (or worse!) situations you could get yourself out of if you followed this? * What is the best thing that can happen if I do this? * What is the worst thing that can happen if I do this? * What is the best thing that can happen if I don't do it? * What is the worst thing that can happen if I don't do it? I've already started using it and it works. Just thought I'd share. Quote
atcoha Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Politics aside... The man is an inspiration. Has a great life story that MANY can look up/aspire to. Quote

Big C Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Raider and Slonezp would think twice about that race team. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 20, 2015 Super User Posted April 20, 2015 Ben Carson, well not for me. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted April 20, 2015 Author Super User Posted April 20, 2015 Regardless of your opinion about the man (it was not my intent to start a thread about him per se), you have to admit that his analysis is spot on. Quote

A gifted doctor no doubt, but some of his rhetoric is highly questionable. Personally if I were seeking guidance on how to shape my life, it may be to the likes of Napoleon Hill, W. Clement Stone, Dale Carnegie or one of my favorites Og Mandino. Quote

"MOMMA SAID KNOCK YOU OUT" I find it extreme for a first step but in some instances necessary. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 20, 2015 Super User Posted April 20, 2015 So, he gets credit for telling you to consider the consequences of your actions, but used really short words to say it, and that makes it great? I'm not impressed. Now, tell me he seperated conjoined twins that were attached at the head, well now you're talking! Quote

Super User gulfcaptain Posted April 21, 2015 Super User Posted April 21, 2015 Did you weigh all the options? I did, and it was good for me since I'm a Pats fan. Worse thing.....could miss the interception and Seattle gets a TD .....loose Superbowl. Best thing........interception of the ball....win Superbowl. 1 Quote
