My Revo S is making noise and is not very smooth anymore. It feels like something either on the gearbox side or the worm gear for the line guide. I took the line guide apart, flushed it with Reel Butter and compressed air and then reoiled it. Did not help any. I it not bad when the left side plate is off but when I put it on the sound comes back. It has worked great up until now. Any ideas why or how to fix it?

How much use has the reel had? If a season or more it should be stripped down, cleaned, inspected and re-lubricated. The cost for members is $19.80 plus shipping if you want to send it in. DIY may be a possibility if you have the aptitude, tools etc. There are videos on the web but I have yet to see one that as thorough as a pro service. Any maintenance is better than none. Let me know if you need help.

The reel has been used a ton since I got it. If I am not using it my is in the back of the boat using it. How much of a chance is there that I ruin it? I am pretty handy with things but would rather not risk it.

Thanks everybody

Take a look at the schematic of the reel they are rather insane. If not 100% comfortable send it to Mike. He has cleaned my reels the last few years and I cannot recommend him enough.

Is this $20 each reel?
