Super User Angry John Posted April 19, 2015 Super User Posted April 19, 2015 I have been looking for a good heavy rod to multi purpose. The steez xbd frog rod is supposed to have a lot of fans. The second choice would be a MB perfect pitch. Which would you get given the choice? Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 We can do a nice custom build for way less than the steez and near the MB price. When you say multi purpose can you elaborate? 1 Quote
Super User Angry John Posted April 19, 2015 Author Super User Posted April 19, 2015 Frogs small swim baits and jigs are all on the plate for both rods listed. Cgrinder have you used both or either one please provide prospective. Quote
Ozark_Basser Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I'd go custom North Fork Composites 709 HM, 709 IM, or the 708 IM. I have the 709 HM. Same blank as the zbones. It's super versatile. Casts 3/8 oz t rigs very well. Handles heavy jigs up to an ounce well also. It's rated 3/8 - 2 oz. I'd honestly rate it as 3/8-1.5 oz. Quote

I haven't fished one yet, but it will probably be my next rod unless I stone up for a Mephisto or something stupid. I'm going off second-hand info, but I'll be purchasing it for the exact techniques you plan on using it for and the consensus is that it is "perfect". Quote
