Here's a visual report of some early spring bassing in the Pocono Mountains.  The big girl went 7.65lbs :)  Water temps have been in the mid to upper 50's and rising the past couple weeks.

Nice video & Great Bass !

She was a Tank - a Gorgeous TANK.

What lure were you fishing there ?

You seemed to be retrieving it fairly quickly.

Congrats

Thanks!  The big girl hit on a crankbait, DT6.  But of all the fish it was jigs, jerkbaits and crankbaits.  Low gear ratio on that cranking setup.

Good job staying calm with that big fish on a crankbait. I hate getting big fish on cranks but that's what I seem to catch them on a lot of the time.

Thanks, ya she was barely hooked only 1 hook of the rear treble.  I would have love to wear her out just a little but didn't want to risk losing her, she hit close to the boat.  Cranks this time of year produce the most biggins for me with the occasional jig pig also :)

Great video. Thanks for posting this.

I'm trying to get a few kinks worked out in my machne. Although I did get in the water Saturday i didn't do any fishing. I'm trying to configure and learn how to use my electronics also.

The water temp in the Beltz was 48 degrees BTW. Next weekend I'm fishing one way or the other. I'm thinking that I should try starting the dropoffs at points in about 15 feet or so?

Thats a good starting point, I'd also suggest shallower throwing jerkbaits for the smallmouth.
