Choosylobster Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Hey guys what's up? I want to see if you guys could give me some of your fishing locations for peacock bass in the broward county area. I live in plantation. If you guys want to send me some private messages I'll greatly appreciate it. I catch and release. Thanks again Quote
Super User geo g Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 I catch them occasionally in Broward. The general rule is, the further south you go in the state the more likely you will catch peacock. There are areas like the Ida / Osbourne sytem that have good populations, but the bigger more populated Peacock areas are in Dade County. The guides for peacock will more likely take you to the airport lakes in Dade County. The earliest test stockings by the state, took place in a few land locked small lakes along the turnpike. These probably hold some of the biggest fish. The Snapper Creak canal system is full of them. Behind the Falls Shopping Mall holds a good population. 1 Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Pembroke pines and Weston have P's in there water system. Quote
SFL BassHunter Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I second Geo on that. I was just out on Ida/Osborne bank fishing and saw quite a few peas. Nothing to big but that doesn't mean they aren't out there. I've heard Markam Park has Peas and like gotfishyfingers said Pines and Weston do have em. In the canals find bridges or any type of post structure that goes into the water. Good chance to find some peas hanging around them. Quote
ThomasFengler Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 just wet a line in pembroke pines, you'll find 'em just about anywhere out there. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 22, 2015 Super User Posted April 22, 2015 I met a fellow a few days ago that is originally from Davie, now living in my area. Told me one of his go to spots is Griffin and Flamingo, tarpon and snook as well as peacocks. He does a lot fly fishing. I've been to those areas, don't do it often being a little far for me. 1 Quote
