mc6524 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Ugly experience with Tackle Warehouse: I ordered a new reel from Tackle Warehouse and after paying for it using my paypal account, I was notified that I owed them $11.00 and that I was to go to my paypal account and send them the money. I shared with them that I was hesitant to do that for two reasons. 1. I paid the amount owed at the time of checkout. 2. I did not feel comfortable sending them more funds and not having any assurance that it would get credited correctly. The end result. The customer service representative hung up on me. I ended up calling back and cancelling the order. I'm not sure this is my definition of "customer service"

Super User Montanaro Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 Maybe your paypal balance didn't have enough funds and you needed to select an account to finish transaction. What did they even say the 11 dollars was for? I doubt they just called you and demanded it. 1

The customer service folks that I have dealt with have always impressed with their knowledge of the products offered and their willingness to help. My guess is there is more to the story than what is posted. In any case this is not the way this site works. If you have a problem with customer service take it up the chain of command.
Super User gulfcaptain Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 I've had to deal with their customer service several times. I forgot to add a few things to my order and they were nice enough to add it for me over the phone to the order I had already placed to save me the shipping and include it all. I've even returned a lure that wasn't running correctly and they sent me a new one free of charge with the return label for to ship back the defective one. I'm almost in the same boat with the statement above that maybe the Paypal account may have been short. There has got to be more to this.
Ozark_Basser Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 It seems like TWs customer service has went down a little in the past few years. Either way, I'm really surprised this hasn't been locked up.
