Bucket A: Ish Monroe

This was easy. This guy is killer in California. He knows how to catch em down there and his strenths are punching and frogging. I think he'll whack them.

If I change my mind, it'll be for Skeet.

Bucket B: Brent Ehrler

Again, this is an easy choice. Cali native, fishes there a lot.

If I change my mind, it'll be for Chris Lane

Bucket C: Alton Jones

For some reason, I really struggled on this one. Everybody seems to be picking Hite and Evers, just didn't seem like I wanted to get either of those. This was a definite dark horse and he may be gone tomorrow.
If I change my mind, I'll go with the flow and pick Hite

Bucket D: Bobby Lane
I think he'll do well. He has some strong sibling redemption motives for catching up with Chris :).

If I change my mind, it'll be for Paul Elias. Just another dark horse I think will do well.

Bucket E: Jared Litner

No-brainer again. He's a native and loves do the Cali stuff, froggin' and all that.

If I change my mind, it'll be for Brandon Palaniuk. He's bound to do well before too long.

Your choices?

Yep him and Lane will probably both do well.

I may flop totally as several of these are just "gut feelings".... haha

Bucket A:  Dean "The Machine" Rojas

Dean will school Ish with the frog in this event!! haha Hes going for AOTY!

Bucket B:  Chad Morganthaler

Morganthaler is on a roll!  Hes been finishing well and won the southern Opens a few weeks ago on Toho..  The Delta may be completely different but there is an old song I like that says, "When youre Hot your Hot and when youre NOt your Not"..

Bucket C:  Brett Hite

Hite is the most picked angler in the Bucket and I too picked him..  Hes fishing with a lot of confidence and the Chatterbait will once again catch em!

Bucket D:  Brent Chapman

This is a gut pick..  Ive been burnt more time than once by picking Chapman but Im feeling he will do well this time, besides, I really didnt like another pick in Bucket D..

Bucket E:  Paul Mueller

Another Gut pick...  Now is the time Paul!!  Come out and be the contender I think you will be!!! haha

: Hackney

The delta's heavy cover sets up well for his style of fishing

: Iaconelli

Good tidal water fisherman

: Velvick

Great competitor in CA waters.

:B Hite

But I don't belong to a Fantasy Fishing group, those are my top picks and expect all to be in the top 10.

Stated above.

: Monroe

Good in the delta as well, as long as he doesn't loose his cool and get off track.

Those would be my pics.

Well at the end of this you'll either do exceptionally well or flop it. That's the way dark horse picks usually go.

I tried to get a solid mix of river rats and Cali Boys. My biggest problem was deciding which California boys to pick.

A. Skeet Reese

B. Hackney

C. Byron Valvick

D. Stephen Browning

E. Jared Lintner

Hackney and Browning have a great history here for being southern anglers. But both have blown leads in the delta. Skeet said the place where Hack found them last time is probably dry, so we'll see if he can find the winning fish.

Wish I'd of picked Lucus, Rook, or Ish. Lucus grew up on the delta, it's just really hard to pick Reese.

Well, I did some hard thinking and changed up my roster, surprising myself.

This fantasy event is dominated by certain anglers for their bucket, Dean, Skeet, Ish, and Ike for A,  Lane, Hackney, Ehrler for B, Hite and Velvick for C, Lane and Defoe for D, and Litner, Ashley, and Palaniuk for E.

If those guys do well, everybody will have picked them. It's gonna take some dark horses to place me well.

So, here's my new roster.

A: Justin Lucas
Used to live in California. Only 2.8 percent picked him so far.

B. Bernie Schultz
Florida guys will do well this time. Considering that only 0.1 percent picked him, if that proves to be true then he will be worth some valuable points to me.
C. Kelly Jordan
Jordan did well on Guntersville and I think he will do well again here. Only 1.9 percent have picked him.

D. Bobby Lane

Didn't change him out. Feel like he'll do well.

E. Jared Litner

Really the only logical choice to me, so I didn't mess with this roster.

A. Zaldain: consistent angler who is due a win. Knows the delta and is low ownership.

B. Powroznik: Won two events last year and has low ownership. Also has a lot of tidal experience.

C. Hite in bucket c? Score. Take the points as any deal you get likely wont bring in enough points to separate from what Hite will do

D. Browning. Experience and high finishes on delta.

E. Lindtner: Can't get all low ownership picks. Need to pick a safe angler or two.

This proved to be a very indecisive tournament for me.

I did some research on the Duel in the Delta in 2010, and changed up my roster for the last time. (I promise!)

A: John Crews
B: Bernie Schultz
C: Davy Hite

D: Bobby Lane
E: Jared Litner

Now, you're asking, why the other Hite? Well, he finished second on one of the Delta events in 2010. And John Crews won the whole thing, yet very few people have picked him.

Posted

Well, we have 2 choices the same:

A: Crews

B: Hackney

C: B. Hite

D: Niggemeyer

E: Litner

Good luck, I hope at least one of us moves into the top 100 by the end of the event.

I locked in with:

A: Rojas

B: C. Lane

C: B. Hite

D: "Big Show" Scroggins

E: Mueller

Good Luck guys!!

Normally I'd try to go for a couple wild cards to make it more interesting, but for some reason, this tournament has "chalk" written all over it, and I just went with the flow.

A: Reese

B: Ehrler

C: B. Hite

D: Browning

E: Lintner

So far my team is stinking it up!!  Chris Lane is my only bright spot..  Dean "not a machine today" Rojas is in 91st!!

CONGRATS to Chris Zaldain on a 30-pound bag and a 12 pound gggiant bass!

Bobby Lane and Bernie Schultz are in the top 11. The rest of mine aren't doing that hot. Glad to see KVD return to his usual spot in the top 10!

Zaldain is killing it for me.

Powroznik is set to make cut and he's always capable of a large bag.

BHite, Stephen Browning and Lintner are also capable of huge bags to make cut. I don't anticipate browning making it though despite 2 top 10 finishes at the delta.

Well, my dark horses saved my butt from a kicking this time. Bernie Schultz in particular, because he did quite well. Quite a few people picked Bobby Lane and that proved to be a great choice for everybody, including myself.

I really regret not sticking with JLu, because I think he had even lower ownership than Crews, not a lot of people picked him.

Ended up in 99.3%. Now, on to Havasu............

Dean Rojas climbed back to the top and kept me from finishing awful!  Good job Guys!

Im now ranked 2401st and 91.8%..

I'm in 90%. Last year was in 98% half of year then collapsed.

Zaldain had crazy bonus points and Powroznik salvaged a lot of points.

Had Lindtner and Bhite made at least top 50 (25 was expected of these two) I would be sitting pretty.

D. Bobby Lane

E. Brandon Palaniuk
