Super User J Francho Posted April 17, 2015 Super User Posted April 17, 2015 Probably doesn't matter. 1 Quote
benzmech Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Dough bait is supposed to float. Im guessing this may be for trout fishing since i dont know anyone who fishes for bass with dough bait. You don't want it all the way on the bottom. That being said, fluorocarbon sinks and so I don't think it would be a wise choice. Usually I will use either braid or fluorocarbon for main line and then a weight followed by mono and dough bait. Usually 2lb and sometimes 4lb but nothing more. Hope this helps. Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 4lb flouro will not sink the dough bait. Even stupid stocked trout are born with amazing eyesight so I would go with fluoro unless you are going to fish 2lb. 1 Quote
kcdinkerz Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Straight fluro is fine I use 8lb invisx fishing stocked trout and a small size ball will float my hook and line. Quote
skie Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 thanks guys. it is for trout fishing. i grabbed some Seaguar 6# invizX. im going to be using a thundermist t-turn swivel so the bait wont be tied directly to the main line. Quote
