Sasquatch12345 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Those grooves look verticle, wonder how that could happen? unless you have a magical reel that pulls line from the outter portions of a reel and retrieves line from the left or right hand sideplates , line retrieves vertically through the TWS onto the spool. The picture shows the back/underside of the TWS. You aren't really able to see the grooves that well unless you break the reel completely down. I only noticed it after the reel was broke down for it's second cleaning after roughly a 1 1/2 years of use. So the level wind wasnt working? I own 2 Tatulas. Both have grooving in the exact same spots.
Super User rippin-lips Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 The Sasquatch account is pure brilliance haha
Super User rippin-lips Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 Do not have the pics anymore but how about PM messages between me and Daiwa rep on another forum where he admits to seeing a few. I was being facetious with my comment. I thought it was common enough that you'd get it.
Super User F14A-B Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 Harry & The Hendersons, correct?, 1
Super User rippin-lips Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 ^^^ correct I traded a Curado 51 for a tatula and eventually traded that for a Chronarch 51. Now I'm trying to sell the Chronarch to buy another Daiwa. Strange circle :shrugs:
Super User J Francho Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 Luke should log in as himself. That was really, really funny, though. Lol.
Grantman83 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I believe he was banned over something so he can't.
bass raider Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 just get the curado and you won't have to worry about grooves. .the curado is the solution to the tatula grooving. lol
bass1980 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 The Tatula has sold thousands and thousands world wide. With only a handful of forum users claiming the issue and I would think it's a extremely rare problem. I already had to send my first Chronarch ci4+ in for grinding noise out of the box. Not to mention all the other brands having their reels sent in for being defective. With such a small percentage of issues with the claims of grooving I don't look at it as being defective. I look it as being extremely rare incidents with the line, lure, and type of fishing that caused it.....if those claims are true. 1
BadBassWV Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I think all 326 of your posts have been about the Tatula Grooving. What kind of effect did the one that grooved have on the performance of the reel??? Just curious. 1
Super User Jrob78 Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 My Tatulas haven't grooved but I know that if they did, Daiwa would take care of it. I would buy another TWS reel in a heartbeat without any fear.

Super User J Francho Posted April 19, 2015 Super User Posted April 19, 2015 Three warnings, two banned accounts. I think this one is done for now.
