Catch 22 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 A bit of a late start because of the extreme cold winter, but its on. Two keepers yesterday, one at 23" were partners in a surf n turf dinner last night .Man it felt so good to feel that infamous "tap" ,then wait for it,wait,ok whack it and have that rod load up. Water is cold now , so bait is in order, but once it warms up they get on tubes, super flukes, sluggos and even LC`s.Its just like bass fishing except you don`t have to feel guilty about eating them.. No tog inshore yet and few stripers ,but soon. Good bye winter. C22 1 Quote

Catch 22 Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Thanks guys. Back at it today. Perfect wx ,not so perfect bite . 2 fish,3 guys,5 hrs.But I got another one 22.5".Words out,the place will be smothered with boats in the nice wx forecast. My favorite for flounder is deep fried in a medium hot flour. I`ll be at a flea mart tomorrow getting rid of some excess stuff that the bait monkey tricked me into buying.. C22 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted April 18, 2015 Super User Posted April 18, 2015 I love flounder fishing! I normally fish a gulp "swimming mullet" (curly tail) on a jighead, or a live mullet, but the most fun way to catch them is on a crankbait. They are very fond of crankin raps, I pulled two keepers out of lynhaven inlet by the bridge last summer on one. I can't believe flounder are shallow before the togs! Quote
Catch 22 Posted April 21, 2015 Author Posted April 21, 2015 4 fish limit today. The bite was on for 40 mins outflow tide, wind shifted,it was over. White teaser big minnows. C22 Quote
