Have you ever noticed how, in some of these kits, they give you 49 bodies but only about one or two jigs-leaving the rest of the 47 bodies more or less useless when you snag and lose the jigs themselves.  Don't know why but that really bugs me.  Okay, I'll go take my meds now.

I haven't bought a kit for fishing since the Banjo Minniw kit I ordered back in 1987.

Haha....howd that work out?

What tends to be in kits is a couple of good colors, and a bunch of colors that don't sell well, so they get rid of them as part of a kit.

I'm here, aren't I?  What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Actually, the minnows themselves are pretty good fluke style baits.  The kahle hooks and the rubberband contraption....meh.

The same guy that makes the clone frogs invented the minnows, and he uses those hooks still, lol.

Many decades ago like 55 years ago the back page of the comics had those 50 fishing things for $4.95. I got one. It came with 30 pack of assorted hooks, some goofy plastic bugs and a sonic type bait. It was yellow with a lightening strike in black on both sides. A rattle lifeless sonic. I tossed it in the spring and caught my first bass.

Been tempted, but never bought a 50-pack

kit. I have found colors that work for me, and

colors that don't. Seems the kits have more

of the colors that don't, hence, I pass.

Buying a kit never crossed my mind.  I use the same rational as said above.  There are a couple of useful items in the kit and the rest is junk that the manufacturer is trying to get rid of.

Yeah, why are you buying a 50 piece kit anyway?  I always thought those were for people who didn't fish to give as crappy gifts to people who do.

often the kits are so cheap like a bass bucket as the baits are slight color blemishes or disco'd colors or baits that did not sell....I know I was given a kit of tubes for Xmas one year and all the tubes had tangled and messed up tenticles...You are better off buying the colors you want in bags and the Jigs you prefer imo.

Although expensive and in weird colors, banjo minnows aren't all that bad action-wise. Actually they were my first confidence bait. My first time using them I hooked into a large dogfish right away and the rest after that is history.
