bmadd Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Awesome baits Marty. Love your bluegill pattern. Wasn't expecting to see a rattle in that flatside...nice. Quote
buzzcatcher Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Those look perfect Marty!!! How does that Tapp style rattle sound? Good enough to do more or not worth the effort? It sure looks sweet. Awesome work. David Quote
BIG M Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 The 22 shells are not as loud as the rattle I normally make. Quote
Captain Rhino Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 That bluegill pattern at the bottom is unreal... I would love to have one that pattern and size. Quote
ernel Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 The top two look real nice. I was just looking at that bluegill pattern 'round lunch time yesterday. 8-) Quote
NEKvt Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Hate to repeat what has already been reported, but that bluegill pattern is awesome. Quote
BIG M Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 Thanks for all the nice words. I wasn't sure about the blue gill bait until I got the clear on it. Quote
HogHooker Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 i'm not quite understanding the 22 bullet rattle, have u put a ball bearing inside and then sealed it off? Quote
ernel Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 i'm not quite understanding the 22 bullet rattle, have u put a ball bearing inside and then sealed it off? You can put anything in the .22 shell to make it rattle. Some foks use a BB, and others will use variouse sizes of shot. Different size items and different composistion will make the rattle have a different tone. Eric Quote
BIG M Posted November 9, 2008 Author Posted November 9, 2008 I drilled a 1/4 inch hole thru the bait. Cut two long rifle casings in half and epoxy in the hole with a single stainless steel ball bearing inside. It's not my perferred way to do the rattle but this person wanted it done that exact way. buzzcatcher Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Hello all, I requested that rattle like that because I thought it would look cool and it does. Not to mention I'm sure it's louder than no rattle at all. It's all about throwing something they haven't seen or heard before and I doubt they've seen one like this. Look at the Rapala Clackin Rap, same concept but not as cool looking as what I had Marty make. I am sure it will catch fish and if it does'nt then it will go on the display shelf and look pretty.
