New Mann's Reel N' Shad

Just got my new Mann's Reel N' Shads in. They work just like in the video. The one included head seemed a little heavy, but it does let you reel fast without the lure coming to high, other than that they look great. I have not got to use them on the lake yet, but I could imagine they will do great. Anyone else have any luck with them yet?

One thing I did find with fishing the shad in my pond is that you have to reel the first couple of reels pretty fast and then slow down, like you are trying to get the blades spinning on a rooster tail.

If they look like they do in the video, I would think they'd be pretty dang fantastic! My only question is about their durability.

They have a lot of action while swimming. I will let you know how they hold up after catching a few fish.

They are Hardnose so that should make them a little bit more durable.

Caught a 2 lb bass today on anheavily pressured pond where the fish usally wont nite anything. The bait held up very well. It didnt even tear the plastic at all. Included hooks are very sharp too.

Caught a 2 with these today. Worked good. You have to let them have it for a second like a worm or you will pull it out of their mouth. Anyone know what hook was included with it? I lost mine on a hook set (frayed line). It had a weed guard and round head. I do not know what size to get for it. The one that was included was the perfect size (and I guess that is why they included it.)

I have always had positive experiences with Mann's products. I am looking to order some on my next order as I like their Jelly Worms and Wake baits, plus the hard head series is actually a good idea my only issue is some of the designs are not so great but I have only tried a few, Mann's is a quality proven company so I am sure you will do well with them for a long time...I want to try their new Frogs which are huge but will cast a mile.

These look awesome. How do they swim on a very slow retrieve?

I like them but the cold water has me about to put them on a scrounger head for slower retrieve and more wiggle.

They do pretty good, not as good as fast. It depends on how slow. Really slow it doesn't have as much, but it still does. A steady retrieve though it has a lot of action. It really helps a slow retrieve if you reel the first reel or two fast or give your rod a twitch to get the action started. Give em a try. You will love them. They are my new favorite lure.

I don't have small one yet but got the big one and I didn't like it; had to reel too fast to make it swim. But I will remain open-minded.

Thats the same one I got. Maybe my slow is bit faster than most. The main speed I retrieved was a steady reel.

They just came out with tons of new colors.  I did notice that my slow retrieve is about a slow, but very steady reeling, but they have a lot of action that speed and faster.
