What kind of reel would you recommend to match with a 6'6 medium fast action rod.

This will be for topwater and jerkbats but i also wondered if in a pinch what other baits I could use this rod for if i was only taking a couple rods.

I want to spend under 150 and was thinking about the curado i 6:3:1.

Do you also think switching to using non dominant hand for reeling and dominant hand for rod action (using left handed reel im a righty) would help w walk the dog for topwater.

I'd pick up a 7:1 Lews Speed Spool or jump up to a Tournament Pro. I find it's usually easier to slow down than it is to go faster.

The set up would work well for spinnerbaits in tight quarters when you need to be accurate.

I don't see a need for switching hands like that. If you happen to have better action with one hand over the other, do it, but I don't see the need to learn.

I'm using my Curado ihg (7.2) but U honest think I wanna slow down to a 6.3 ... I wish I could borrow and try it out to see if it was noticeable difference enough for me to buy it but oh well

A couple of years ago I bought a lefty reel by mistake (I'm right handed), but soon discovered it was much easier for me to walk top water lures and a jerkbait with. It's just what you prefer. Give it a try if you can. Left handed topwater reel works for me and a couple of others I fish with.

I use 6.x:1 and LH retrieve reels for everything. Seems to be working all right so far. You can use your combo for pretty much any baits that the rod can handle. Versatile rig.

Lots of good deals right now on the curado I.  American legacy has them for $139.  Get the 6.3 lefty and you'll have a versatile reel.
