MichiganFisherman Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Haven't been on the forums too much lately but, here's what I've been doing. Tell me what ya think! Quote
BIG M Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 You have been busy. All are very good looking baits. Quote
MichiganFisherman Posted November 1, 2008 Author Posted November 1, 2008 Thanks Dave and Marty. I really need to get an airbrush... I can only do so good hand painting the things but I try... Quote
whittler Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Some really neat baits there, especially like the 4 jonit bait. If you have a Hobby Lobby in your area keep a close lookout in their store or their website for cupons and sales. I was in a Hobby Lobby a couple monts ago and as I walked by the airbrush case they had an Iwata HP-CS on sale for $53.99, needles to say I have one more, you can't pass up a deal like that. Quote
BIG M Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 If the bait's action is right, you will catch just as many fish on the hand painted bait. idlove2fish is correct by telling you to watch cupons from Hobby Lobby. Best sales on the best airbrush that you will find. Quote
cootertom Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 From the looks of that hand painting I'm not sure you need a airbrush. I have started using a fan brush quite a lot latelyfor blending. You can also find 50% off sales on their (Hobby Lobby) paint quite often also. Make us a video of that four section swim bait in motion. Quote
MichiganFisherman Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 Well thanks Cooter! ;D I'm not even sure there is a hobby lobby in my area but, I'll have to find out. I can make a video but I do not know how to format it to play on my computer or whatever. Tell me how and I will. Quote
cootertom Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I'm the wrong person for that. I can't even manage a super closeup of my cranks I paint. I've seen some of the videos the others post on here and they would most likely give some excellent advice. Quote
MichiganFisherman Posted November 8, 2008 Author Posted November 8, 2008 For some reason the epoxy and paint cracked and peeled up on the 4 section bait... > I am going to have to re-paint it and hope it doesn't do it again then I might post a vid if I can get one. Quote

Cootertom, if you're using a digital camera, there should be a macro setting to get a super close up without being blurry. On my camera, Cannon Power shot A75, it's an icon of a flower. You might have something similar. Quote
cootertom Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Mine is a Kodax camera, but just looked at it and it has the flower icon also. I will try it on that setting only and see if I can get them better. Thanks! Quote
