im having a tough time trying to figure out what is a few good color options for soft plastic jerkbaits and swimbaits so anyone who fishes smallies in criks or rivers please chime in i mainly fishing green pumpkin due to it matching much of the bottom forage but having a tough time trying to figure out a good all around color options or options for those style baits

Arkansas shiner, rootbeer green flake, green pumpkin gold or copper flake. Not sure why you are asking for help though. You seem to be doing pretty good with what youve been using. Suggestions never hurt I guess. I would just look at the forage and try to match that. I'm partial to the hard floating jerkbaits.

thats the thing i always use prettty much the same style baits ie craws worms senkos topwater hard baits and some hard jerk baits but i feel like i can get some more fish from soft plastic jerk and swim baits

I would also recommend a drop shot if you aren't already using it. I've always just played around with it and never understood how effective it can really be until recently. That and the Ned rig are two things I'm going to focus a lot more on this year.

It's basically a senko cut in half on a 1/32 - 1/8 oz mushroom shaped jig head. its really popular nowadays, especially if the bite is tough and especially for smallmouth.post-50907-0-01380200-1429058494_thumb.p

@ bluebasser- I like how I googled Ned rig and your picture is one of the first to show up lol.
