I saw a guy with a 2000'ish model Cadillac Seville towing a Triton bass boat. Nice caddy all polished up with white wall tires. Young guy about 30. Said it was his grandfather's car and he got it when he passed away. Put a trailer hitch on it and used the car. Said it can tow like 3,000lbs. His set up was perfect he said.

You all ever see any vehicles that surprised you tugging a bass boat behind it??

This guy towed in style and luxury. ;-)

Most ppl are way over powered in regards to what they need to tow a bass boat. Mine is over 20 feet with a 225, I tow it with a 1500 Silverado because I already had the truck. I wouldn't think twice about towing it with a properly equipped Ford Ranger, or Chevy S10, or a rwd Caddy. It only weighs 3000lbs. The tow capacity of my truck is something like 12000, so it's overkill. I remember growing up and seeing allot of ppl towing campers and boats behind the family station wagon.

My brother and I watched a guy pull a 12' Jon boat with an electric motor up to the dock, and I about crapped my pants when I saw him come around the corner on a motorcycle with a boat trailer attached the the back. Believe it or not it pulled it out, he was on a big Yamaha roadstar I think they're called..

Back in the late sixties I towed a 15' GlassMaster boat with 65hp merc on it with a Volkswagen Karman Ghia for a couple of years. Only had to replace clutch twice, the steep ramp gave it h**l getting it back out of the water.

A guy in his 60s on one of my lakes has a 18 foot speed boat with a massive exposed onboard engine with twisted headers and comeptlely done up engine- sounds like a plane taking off. I am behind him at the ramp one day pulling the boat out and he was towing his 18ft with a dodge challenger srt8. I had to laugh because obviously its got all the power in the world but this was a beaten boat ramp that was pretty much sand once you hit the water. He had to give it plenty of gas but he got it out.

Story kinda fits. I saw a guy beach his kayak on the ramp. Take the battery he was using to run his electronics out of the kayak, walk back and pop the hood of his truck, install the battery in the truck, drive over to the ramp and load up the kayak

I forget the story behind this one. That happened a couple years ago on Peach St. In Erie.

I didn't have a camera at the time, but I've seen a few Amish buggies towing small tin boats.

Saw a guy pulling an almost new bass boat with a truck that look like it was one of the worse ones pulled from a junk yard. Before I owned a tow vehicle I once borrowed my grandma's gold PT Cruiser to pull my little Ranger.

Idk if this applies but I saw a small Asian man driving a boat with trailor still on ..... He was complaining to a friend of mine that it wouldn't get on plane

Wish like heck I'd have taken a picture but I was on my way to Lac Seul in Ontario about 10 years ago - and saw a 20 foot Ranger on the back of a fully restored, jacked up, with custom/modified engine coming out of the hood, mag wheels, etc - GTO muscle car from the 1970's.

I tow my 17-footer with a Subaru Forester.  I get a lot of looks at the ramp, but it's working OK so far!  It has a 2400lb. towing capacity and my rig weighs less than 2000....

Tight lines,

Bob
