I can't believe it, how did they steal it? Was it at a campsite, Marina, what? I hope it is recovered soon. Is there anyway to put a gps tracker on a boat? Everytime I go out, I wonder if my trailer will still be connected to my truck when I get back!

Wow I'm sorry to hear that. You wonder what they do with it. How can they get it registered and on the water? Do they ship it over seas like they do cars or just take what they can use off of it. I hope it works out for you and ends poorly for them.

Man, I know that hurts.  Probably the only way that thief is going to get caught is from the trailer tag, if any.  I say that because my state (Oklahoma) doesn't require one.  The Lake Patrol doesn't have the resources to chase down a theft, so it's up to the guys in the cruisers to catch it.  Good luck.

Wow,that's brazen of some one.Like everyone else I hate a thief.

On a side note, and not trying to make lite ,my son is dragging his feet on fixing me up with a nice rig like that.

That's sad. I'm very sorry to hear that. I hope it was insured and you have all info you need.

We were out Saturday night and when we returned someone had snapped both of the poles on the trailer for my buddy's boat that had the lights on the end for easier loading and visibility. Why does this happen in our sport? Is it jealousy? Is it other fisherman or just vandals? I hoping the latter but this pole snapping has happened several times to my buddy and to others we know at the same marina. I don't get what pleasure can be derived from this. Shameful really.

Good luck with recovering the boat! I hope you are able to.

Its ridiculous hard working people are the ones this happens to.  85% of the time its people who could care less about fishing.  They have buddy's they want to look cool in front of so they show how tough they are, when it really shows how cowardly they are.  Its the people who never buy fishing license who are looking to take the easy way to acquire things and make a easy dollar.  Don't ever leave your boat in the water over night either. I was staying at lake marion one night and I had been talking to this older gentlemen and he was the nicest person I ever meat taught me some things took me out on his boat.  I get up the next morning and he said his boat was gone.  Apparently someone had pulled their boat up to his and pulled it off somewhere in the middle of the night  because there is someone always on duty watching for people to come pay to put there boats in. Poor fella couldn't quit crying over it.

Oh and get the ball on your hitch welded on. We came back from a trip one time and someone had taken the ball loose from our hitch.  I guess we got back in time to keep them from getting the trailer

It's absurd the lengths we have to go to just to keep our gear and our vehicles safe and secure. It's pretty sad after all of the blood, sweat ,and tears put into getting these items that someone could just come along and tear them up or worse, take them from us.

I used to dry store my first bass boat at a marina at the lake and I would just call when I was coming down and it was in the water when I arrived. Pretty cool , right? It cost about $500 a year then which was a deal because I didn't have a truck. Well I called one day and shortly after getting off the phone I got a call back...someone had taken my stainless steel prop and everything in the compartments which had my lake map, light poles, paddle, cushions...etc. Back then I wasn't really set up to buy all of that in a day to make the trip happen so it was another two weeks before all was settled and I was back on the water. Nothing happened again after that one time but I was always worried after each trip. I never left anything in the boat after that but that was a pain at the end of a long night or day fishing. I was afraid I might drop the prop in the lake trying to take it off so I reluctantly left it behind.

Thanks to all for the great words ! the boat was in storage an trailer locked up also at Yell Creek also know s Stateline ( Where MS an TN come together) . This portion was behind kinda of a place called Freddy T's . Their camera looking at their side door believe it caught a lot of the action . They picked gate lock , started one of the Tractors an drove back where it was an cut lock grabbed boat . There were boats around it unlocked worth 50k to 80k an they took mine. Must had a order or something . Black Ford F250 but tag was just out of site for good look . It circled the place from 4pm that day till 1am an that's when they grabbed her . Driver of truck setting out of site behind Freddy's an here comes tractor flying pulling boat thru gate, behind building . 3 mins later another camera saw it come out an turn right headed to MS an GONE !!I notified 15 Bass Clubs in MS-TN-AL-AR even got ahold of a fish wildlife man on the Tom Bigbee but known have seen her .

Insurance paid off but still love to find her . Just installed the 36V 109 Hand Motor Guide on it .

How long ago was this?  Seems I have heard this same story.  And it was a Nitro.

check area craig lists and ebay for individual items you had on the boat, electronics, etc. and see if you can turn up something that way...most likely you could find those prior to finding the whole rig.

Weird they went through all the trouble to get yours when there were other just as nice or nicer boats more easily accessible. Assuming since insurance paid out you got cleared, but around here there would have been a major investigation to make sure that it wasn't an "inside" deal.

Glad you got paid and can move on!

So sorry. Keep us posted. Scum people in this world. I hope and pray you get some resolve. Insurance is good to have but it still hurts. As mentioned check eBay and other local sites also!!!!!!

Sounds like they were after the motor. And the hull will be found not far from there. Last one I heard stolen from Scotties a while back. The hull was found off Hwy 350 by hunters months later. They had stripped the boat of all that was easy to sell.

Sad but it happens and way to often.

I have also known guys to tack weld the nuts on the trailer coupler mounting bolts along with the hitch ball nut. What a shame you have to go to such lengths just to keep your stuff from being ripped off.

You need to get the word out to local scrapyards to look for the trailer. Crooks usually will steal the boat and trailer, dump the boat somewhere (in Detroit the dump site of choice is an abandoned lot) and scrap the trailer. Finding the trailer will be the best way of finding the perps. I'm not a criminal, but if it were me I would have put a stolen license plate on the trailer so it can't be found with your license plate number.

Sorry to hear about your loss. It pains me to hear about people stealing from other people.
