I received my first build components today.  I did not order an arbor for the front of my ECS seat because everyone But Reelmech told me I would not need one( I need to listen to everything RM tells me).  Since I am not doing a foregrip I need some sort of arbor to fill the front gap.  Masking or drywall tape is not an option. What could I use as an arbor without having to place another order for a $.50 part and another 3 day delay.

I used a burl cork ring, turned down, on my first few rods.  Also used some wood arbors that I cut out with a hole saw and turned down.  Both worked fine but neither were as easy as the arbors.  (Never had a problem with one.)

I buy the arbors in bulk now...

I have been reel service and rod build trained by that man (for 5 years now), I listen to everything he says. Did you get the burnt burl he sent off?

The best and lightest way he taught me was to make an arbor out of dry wall tape. Build it up to fit the front of the seat...

Oh btw we won't be seeing much of RM on the forum anymore, he's just not up to it. If I can relay messages or help in any way let me know.....

As RM would say, tight wraps all!

Burl came today.  Thanks

As for using drywall tape I have to either put the arbor in the reel seat before I mount the reel seat.  How would that work?

I think I might use a burl ring or just pack 1/2-1" of the Lamar epoxy in the cavity after I mount the reelseat
