I work in a boat shop in NY and we build wooden dingys, sailboats, guid goats, fishing boats, kayaks, canoes, ex... I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who uses, wants one or has built wooden fishing boats, kayaks or canoes. "

I was also wondering if there is anyone who fishes from kayaks, and how the fishing is from them.

I have built a couple of wooden boats and helped two friends build those very nice wooden canoes. While they are very nice looking and handle great, they are too heavy for my likings.

I'm surprised that you ended up with a heavy boat. I built a 14 foot canoe and it weighed just under 20 pounds.
