blackmax135 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I don't like spinner baits. Can't seem to catch a fish on them. I'm not blaming it on the bait though I guess the spinner bait is my lure I need to take out and leave everything else home 5 Quote
papajoe222 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 If you can partner up with someone that has confidence in fishing spinnerbaits, you an learn alot in a short time. There is also a lot you can learn right here. Nice job on your first. Those are very versatile baits, so don't get comfortable only fishing them only one way under one set of conditions. Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted April 10, 2015 Super User Posted April 10, 2015 Honestly the fish in my ponds don't seem to like spinnerbaits. But at other places I've been; they've CRUSHED them. Quote
Bill77 Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Thanks for all of the tips guys. I have been trying many different things out and have found out that these baits only work in sertant places and sertant conditions. I have been getting to like them because they punch through weeds pretty good and I have only so far caught nice sized fish on them. ,Bill Quote

BaitMonkey1984 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Red Spinnerbait in Spring, white any other time of the year. Always have one rigged up on the deck and one of my favorite lures to fish, also one of my first confidence baits. Very helpful hint here- Make sure that any time you are not fishing around heavy heavy cover you have a trailer hook. In my experience at least twice the amount of fish caught with a trailer. Try it out. 1 Quote

stkbassn Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Awesome! I love fishing the blade myself. I fish War Eagles pretty much exclusively. I've had great success with them. If you haven't tried a War Eagle pick up a few. Spinnerbait fishing is very addictive. Have fun! Quote
rosshilk Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Spinnerbaits are excellent whenever I bring a beginner out on the lake with me I tie one on for them. They are so simple and catch fish. Just this week my buddy caught the biggest bass of his life a 4 pounder on a spinnerbait I tied on for him. I love putting people who normally don't fish in a position to be successful with a spinnerbaits 1 Quote

Never had much luck with them. Now if were talking swimbaits on an underspin that's a whole other story. Quote

Super User scaleface Posted April 10, 2015 Super User Posted April 10, 2015 I use to make spinnerbaits and experimented a lot with them. I would catch fish early in the year with large bright lures and then the bite seemed to die over night. To get them hitting again I'd pour 1/4 and 3/8 ounce lures with a small wire frame , single small willow leaf blade and a not very visible skirt. 1 Quote
Shanes7614 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I use and catch with them 365 days a year. Many many different presentations you can use them in. Quote
