Im looking into the big boys, A lake i fish has alot of good size bass and good number of pa lunkers. Im thinking the big squarebills like that strike king 8.0 weighing in at 3/4, is what i read. Then the lc Mangum, at 1.5 oz. So i dont think i have a rod for the lcs but i do for the sks, fill me in i feel like those and torras tubes will yield a big sac in the spring

What about the Fat Ike by Rapala? I know those are larger cranks, but not sure if that is the range you are looking for.

HD DD22 is my go to crank for big fish. You can get deep or just grind it into the bottom for a reaction strike

I have the 8.0 and have it on my 7'6" BPS Crankin Rod with 15lb mono to 30lb braid.  Will be looking to use them up the the Sac. Delta next month, but overall they don't feel that much different then cranking a 5XD which isn't that bad either and they are the same rough size as the SK Wake Shad, as well as the Live Target Bluegill wake baits, so I'm thinking fish in the 3lb range shouldn't have any problems eating one, although I'm sure there will be some smaller fish that think they can too.

how do you like the 8xd compared the the 10xd??

I've done well on good sized bass with some of my muskie baits, but then again I've also caught some 10in. bass with them too.  Don't get too caught up in the big bait = big fish mentality when targeting big fish. A crappie jig will catch a lunker if placed in the right spot.  One thing I've found that is consistent no matter the size the lure is, you have to present it slow. Better than average sized fish don't waste energy chasing down their prey.  Just saying

I've got a few jumbo cranks. Just got a 8XD in the mail yesterday. Hasn't touched the water yet but it looks like it's going to catch some fish for me.

Oddly enough, it was the next cast after I caught this one and judging by what was sticking out of her throat, that crappie was pushing it's luck.

Go for it.

Years ago I kept catching big bass with giant shad in their gullet. So I purchaded a Bagleys Natural Shad made for stripers. I threw and threw that bait and never caught a fish.   Man , I thought I had a great idea . LOL
