travis23 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Hey guys I have a quick question. Tonight I broke a Veracity spinning rod that was won in a contest. I still have no idea how it broke. I was running the vacuum and was creeping up to the rods to be careful I didn't hit them, and all of a sudden I heard a snap. Took the rod sleeve off and the rod tip was broke in 2 places. It's literally the craziest **** I've seen, because I barely touched it with the vauum. When I did bump it, it just slightly leaned over on the other rods like they always do. Anyways just wondering if they will replace it due to having no receipt, and also because of the way it broke. I've had them replace a rod before, but I was actually fishing with that one and it broke in one spot. Thanks in advance! Quote

I had a similar issue and it was replaced since it was a gift. Give them details, Abu service is great. Quote
travis23 Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 That is good to know. They were great the first time I broke a rod. Got a new one sent right away. I just wasn't sure they would look at this and not blame me for carelessness or something. Thaks Quote
Kevin22 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Because it was your fault they probably wont replace it under warranty. They will however offer you a replacement at near cost. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Sounds like the vacum pulled on the rod sleeve and bent the tip over. I'm confident they'll work out something satisfactory with you. Quote
frantzracing0 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I have nothing but great things to say about abu's warranty center. I dropped a revo on a concrete block and scratched the crap out of the brake side cover. Called and explained what happened and was simply looking to buy a replacement side cover. They shipped me one free of charge and the reel was past its warrany Quote
travis23 Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 I called them they said they would charge me $50 to replace. It broke so close to the tip, I may just put a guide on the top and use it as a spare for the kids. Quote

I was packing everything up and moving home from college when i closed my car door and broke an inch off one of my favorite rods. I replaced the tip and it works just as well if not better than when it was whole. Quote
AllTerrainAngler Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Abu has a great warranty. Had a veracity snap in three places just reeling in a fish. The video of this happening was pretty ridiculous. The rod was never abused, not even a scratch on it. I had a tournament 2 days after it happened. Abu not only replaced my rod but also next day aired a replacement for the tournament until i got my new one it. The replacement sent was a veritas but once i received my new rod they offered me the veritas for $40 so of course i kept it. Quote
