Super User geo g Posted April 9, 2015 Super User Posted April 9, 2015 I used to get upset when losing a big fish. I don't lose very many, so I don't get upset any more, its all part of the game. "Its better to have played and lost , then never to have played at all!!!!!!" Life goes on, don't sweat the little things. Quote

Nice_Bass Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "I am sure it was just a peckerwood" "I will just sit down and drink a beer I guess" I also hand my rod to whoever in the boat and let them know I don't need it anymore, and will just work the trolling motor if it was a good fish. Quote
Super User Master Bait'r Posted April 9, 2015 Super User Posted April 9, 2015 We call 'em Moby as in they are now our white whale to chase- and they always took our lunch money when they break off a bait. That freakin' Moby... What a jerk. Always taking my lunch money. Quote

Mainebass1984 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Aside from a variety of swear words : "Must have been a pickerel" "That was just a kibby " (Out of stater term for a panfish) "She took me to school" My favorite: "She flipped me the fin" Its just like giving someone "the finger" Quote

Fishing Cowgirl Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "Seriously???" If I saw it was a big bass "Must be a pickerel" if I didn't see it. "That's why its called fishing, not catching" if it was a small bass "Deep breath and silence" If a really nice keeper bass. (Also useful that hubby can't see my face because of the buff) 1 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted April 9, 2015 Super User Posted April 9, 2015 I've watched many a nice fish get lost, if I loose one its normally "Dam" followed by a quick sarcastic laugh with a few hops(not in a boat though). The best reponses I always enjoyed on the charterboats is when someone would loose a nice fish, then give the guy next to them the "look what you did" look, lower their head and walk away. Guess it was easier to blame the other guy fishing that had nothing to do with it then accept that it was their fault. But it always made me laugh inside. Quote

Brnnoser6983 Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 When it counts I too have a slew of colorful words. But mine may make a sailor blush. Oh don't get me wrong I will make them chuckle. But I'm not out there throwing rods, cursing at the top of my lungs. And I save my expletives for larger fish, and lost lures. Quote
Smokinal Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "Son of a betcha thought I was gonna swear" "Shut the front door" "That was a nine..." "I just lost a customer" "That ones gonna leave a mark" 1 Quote
Don't Tell The Wife Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 If I am being good Mother Father Usually there is no restraint. Too bad fishing isn't like golf and you could just throw your pole then calmly walk over and get it unless you stuck it in a tree or the pond. Quote
bmlum415 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 For me it's : Mother F***** F*** If it's a giant, then following the slur of colorful words is me throwing the rod at the console 1 Quote

J McRae Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 My choice of words... Not appropriate for posting. Silence and a crazy look on my face follow shortly after. That is all... 1 Quote
