These are my 2 final choices... Do any of you have experience with one or the other... ? OR experience with both would be great! And to clarify, YES, I'm going to a store to see both of them in person, but I'd like to have other's opinions as well. THANKS!

There are so many versions of the Lew's it's hard to keep them straight. Generally speaking, if you've fished a Revo, Pflueger, PQ etc you have an idea what you get with Lew's. The Tatula casts pretty well and feels smooth enough. I picked one up for personal use but also have several from the other list. It comes down to personal preference. The Tat may be a little heavier,

My vote goes to the tatula, I would chose my tatula over my lews tournament pro. I just like how solid and smooth the tatula is, and it will out cast my tournament pro. Alot of people are turned away by the tatulas size, but to me it palms perfect

Put the Tatula on a rod and make sure you like how it palms.

I bought a Tatula and loved everything about it except how it felt in my hand. It casts a mile, buttery smooth, looks great. I just couldn't get over the feel.

I have a LFS Speed Spool and the Tatula was a better reel in every category except for how they palm and that's why I sold the Tatula.

The Tatula is probably the best reel in the $100 - 150 range.

True, but for $150 or less, you get a Tournament Pro, Tournament Lite, or BB-1 Pro. Bye bye daiwa.

Lol you cant get those for under 100$. I can get a tatula for 95$ off amazon.

I would chose a tatula over any sub $200 lews any day, even if the tatula was at full retail price. I have a lews tournament pro and a tournament mg, and have owned a regular speed spool and lazer speed spool. They are nice reels, but the tatula just feels so much better to me.

Do you understand the difference between the Tatula types? There seems to be a Standard, Type-R, and now a Type-HD... I went to Daiwa's website and I still don't understand all the differences... Anything would be helpful! Thanks!

From what I understand the only differences are the type r has a ported frame, gear ratio, and bearings in the levelwind. And the hd is just a heavy duty version with more line capacity
