Scotty.C Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Sorry to post this on a bass forum (still love bass fishing) but this question has been killing me! I was using a spinner bait and powerbait for trout in a pond in Utah, and foul hooked this little guy. What species of trout is this? Iv'e been told it's a tiger trout, but the pictures of tiger trouts online look significantly different. (this is also my first post, if I did anything incorrectly, let me know) Quote

Heron Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Probably tiger trout, but likely looks different because of it being a juvenile fish. Quote
Derekbass02 Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I agree. It does look like a Tiger Trout. Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Juvenile tiger trout. Cross between a brown trout and brook trout. Nice catch! Quote
RanndomUndead Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 Search "Tiger Trout Juvenile", youll be able to tell right away Quote
BassObsessed Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 "Soon-to-be-line-thru"? And a giant magnet in California. Quote
Scotty.C Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Thanks a lot, I guess it did end up being a tiger trout. It was such an odd catch because I had just caught and released 50 rainbows then on my final cast snagged him on the belly. (Like the others he was released too!) Quote
