pcakes55 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Good review. Planning on looking at a 2014 this weekend, it has a 50 4-stroke on it. Do you think that it will feel under powered? I see you have the 60 on yours. Quote
BLuRRnAWAY Posted April 7, 2015 Author Posted April 7, 2015 Honestly, I really do wish I had the 75 on mine. The 60 is great, but the holeshot is sluggish. She goes 35MPH with a full load and a partner. with just myself I can get her around 40-41 pending conditions. I am not sure if you will notice much of a difference with the 50-60 motor. but do get the 4 stroke! its an awesome motor! Goodluck, its a great boat! 1 Quote
LuckyGia Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Is that 40 - 41 by gps or your speedometer ? By gps I can reach 31mph with my 60hp Quote

By gps I can reach 31mph with my 60hp This is by my speedometer, I will have to check my speed on my GPS and my cell phone GPS. Also, not sure what year or stroke your motor is, 4-Strokes have come a long way. Quote
LuckyGia Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I only ask because I was contemplating trying a different prop to see if I could squeeze a little more mph out of it. I got my results from gps Quote

I got my results from gps Yeah I dont blame you, I am almost 100% sure that my boat has a GPS on the speedometer and its pretty accurate. Once the ice is gone, I will get back with you and let you know. But I am pretty certain my boat does go 40. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I have a 2010 with 2 stroke opti 75hp. Back end weighs a ton so factor that in as well. Run around 44gps though. With the 4 strokes may want to double check what hub assembly kits you have on there if you go to a SS prop as well. Pcakes- go with the extra hp if you can....unless you are fishing lakes that are restricted for the most part. 1 Quote

They're just so costly its hard to make the commitment! Quote
LuckyGia Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I will check into some new props. They're just so costly its hard to make the commitment! Tell me about it. I just paid $300 for a ss prop. Upon installation I noticed my output shaft is bent. Noticeable by eye so it must be bent pretty good. Hope it holds up. I did manage to add 3 mph with the new prop. Quote
