I use a powder paint air brush and the same powder paint as I use on jigheads.

All of my green pumpkin and black/blue chatterbaits get the black sharpie treatment on the blade.  It sometimes starts to wear off after a long days fishing so I just color it again.  I keep a black, blue, and red sharpie marker in my fishing bag at all times just in case I wanna do some bait modifications on the fly.

I carry a few assorted extra blades when I am fishing bladed jigs, but nail polish works great on blades and a lot of other tackle.

If you do paint them make sure you don't get whatever you're painting them with on too thick or you'll ruin the action.

Phenix also makes nice blades.

That is a nice blade ... May need to pick some up.
