As the title says... I have heard of bending the hook point out to the left or right, and/or up. Does this help significantly? Also has anyone ever tried to use a straight shank flipping hook to rig a Mission Fish? I was just thinking with how the hook rides it may actually increase the hookup ratio. Thoughts?

Thanks!

Go online and look at Mike Long 3:16 Mission Fish. Mike goes into detail how to rig and fish this lure.

Yes, I bend the hook SLIGHTLY to one side or the other and then skin hook it.

It does improve hook ups dramatically over the straight hook.
