LB SECT Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Looking at getting new electronics. The garmin 73 SV is getting my attention. It is 100 dollars less then the Lowrance Hds 7 gen 2 touch with Lss-2. Has anyone had experience with this model? Is the Lowrance worth the extra hundred? Open to any advice. Quote
LB SECT Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Also can you mount thee xdcer on the trolling motor with this unit? Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 The 73 SV has been an extremely popular unit at a great price point. There is no specific trolling motor adapter for the GT 40. However, you can easily use the transom bracket and a hose clamp. 1 Quote
Todd Driscoll Posted April 8, 2015 Posted April 8, 2015 I also verified that the trolling motor adapter made for the GT30 will also work with the GT40. This would be your best option relative to minimizing potential impact damage to the ducer. This adapter is part number 010-12105-10. This pic is actually the adapter with a GT30, but again, it will also work with the GT40. Quote

This is the setup I have with my trolling motor transducer with my 93SV and it works very well and was very inexpensive and easy to mount. 1 Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted April 9, 2015 Super User Posted April 9, 2015 Transducer Shield and Saver will have a mount for those transducers soon. Quote
fishyfisherman Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The wire from the transducer hits the transom mount when you reverse the mount. Do you have to cut on the transom bracket to keep it from doing this? Quote
