Pio Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I am going to buy a bb1 pro and I was wondering what gear ratio I should get. I am using it for crank baits and lipless cranks. 6.4:1 or 7.1:1? Quote
Super User Shane J Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 For that, I'd grab the lower ratio. Quote
bbodkin Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Go with a 5.4:1 for crankbaits. If you are throwing lipless Crankbaits with stuff like chatterbaits and paddle tail swimbaits id get a 6.4:1 1 Quote
chelboed Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 What bbodkin said. Big deep cranks, big double spinners, etc...benefit from the low ratio. Cranks benefit from the multi stop anti reverse. But if it's more lipless cranks and the like...go with 6.4 Quote
Sonik Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I bought the multi-stop BB1 Pro. I think it's 5.1:1. I used it most of the day yesterday. Lake is muddy so I threw lipless and shallow square bill cranks. I love to crank it into something like a log and then stop it and "back it up". Quote
