Patrick Morrow Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 So I know that spawn is already on for some of you, but other still seem battle with the ice. I have been doing tons of reading and researching on bass fishing at spring and especially around spawning time. Of course the usual stuff is spinnerbaits or soft plastics and articles about sight fishing what go around each year. This is bit more interesting, tournament anglers and some bloggers giving out their unconventional or just great tips for spawn fishing: 39 Pro Anglers Teach How Not To Screw Up Bed Fishing Alka seltzer method was something new and fresh for me. Will give it a try if nothing else bites. There are so many approaches and techniques so I think it will take a quite a bit of time to go over all of the techniques. Certainly making spawn fishing much more interesting this year.Anyway, do you have some odd or interesting trick that has worked during spawn?? I`m sure some of you have had luck with something out-of-box, especially during spawn when bass ain´t behaving and attacking like normal. 1 Quote

Some guy was telling me about the alka seltzer the other day really neat concept. I've done soap on buzzbaits but never alka seltzer in a jig. Quote
Brayberry Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 During the Spawn I like to throw 12" lizards. To big for the male to get out of the nest, so the female gets frustrated and comes in to eat it. Quote
Patrick Morrow Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Wow, soap on buzzbaits? Did it worked, do you use it only at spawn time? Quote
Matthew2000 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 It worked okay. Nothing noticeably better. Just added some bubbles to the back for extra attraction. Quote

EmersonFish Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I like the idea of using a big swimbait to draw them up when you can't see them on the beds, then watch where they return to. I usually fish pretty clear water, so I hadn't thought about it; but it's a tip to keep in mind if I need it. Quote
BaitMonkey1984 Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Fizzards is an attractant that takes the alka seltzer to another level. The only problem is that sometimes the stuff is too hard to make malleable to your lures. TW is the only place I know that has it. Quote
