Kuenro02 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 What's everyone's favorite jerkbait? I ordered a smithwick but that seems to big for the waters I'm fishing. I think I'll try an xrap or a kvd but want to hear what you all think. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 Don't know which model Swithwick you have but the Perfect 10 Rogue is the longest bait in the line. But at 5 1/2 inches and 5/8 oz., it's definitely not too big for any waters that have a healthy population of adult large or smallmouth bass. In the right conditions, at the right place & time, that bait is pretty good. All the Smithwick baits are and have been for a long time. Give it a try before you give up on it. Btw - I'm partial to the Lucky Craft Pointer line - the 100DD in particular. A-Jay 1 Quote

*Hank Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 For the past couple of weeks I have really been enjoying a Pointer 78. I use all sizes of the pointer and they work well it's defenetly my favorite jerkbait. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 I love jerkbait fishing and I have a lot of them but the Rogue is my favorite. Quote
bigfishbk86 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Megabass vision 110 and 110+1 are by far my favorite and catch more fish for me than probably all my other jerkbaits combined. Lucky craft pointers would be a distant second. 2 Quote
OntarioFishingGuy Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I really like the Rapala Husky Jerk. The Shadow Rap is pretty sweet as well. Quote
BradGuenette Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Ive had the best sucess with the Vision 110,ITO Shiner, also use Lucky Craft 112MR's from time to time.I wouldn't worry too much about size, a smallmouth will crush a 5"+ jerkbait without a problem. 1 Quote

The only thing better than a free dying meal to a bass is a free larger dying meal. Quote
yakingfisherman Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 lc Pointers. Duo realis and the shadow rap have been good to me as well. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 For largemouth bass, I'm biased toward the Lucky Craft Pointer 100SP Now then, in weedy situations where exposed trebles are out-of-the-question, I won't hesitate to use a "soft" swimbait, namely a Zoom 7" Magnum Fluke (smoking shad) Roger Quote
BasshunterJGH Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 The general opinion is that Megabass onetens are the best and lucky craft's are a close second 1 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 The general opinion is that Megabass onetens are the best and lucky craft's are a close second I agree and if they keep thinking that that's all the bass will ever see. Quote
fishinphilly Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 i picked up a couple storm twitch sticks last year and there not a bad bait for $5 and they have some nice colors Quote

Kuenro02 Posted April 5, 2015 Author Posted April 5, 2015 Wow, a lot of options and opinions:) thanks guys! I think I'll just have to pick up a couple and try them out. When watching videos, guys stress to use them in clear water. At what point do you say the water is to stained or dirty to pull out the jerkbait? Quote

bassinyea Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Vision 110 for me. Have caught so many fish on them its stupid. The paint jobs are one of a kind too. I like the lucky craft flash pointer and staysee a lot too but if I had to pick a favorite it would definitely be the Ito. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 5, 2015 Global Moderator Posted April 5, 2015 For the last few weeks it's been a custom painted 110 KO The RC STX in French Pearl is always a producer for me, as is Pro Blue. Quote
Hogsticker Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Ima Flit 100 for the suspending variety, Duo Realis 100F for the floating variety. I've also been putting the Yo Zuri 3DB jerkbaits to the test with really good results. Can't go wrong with the Lucky Craft Pointer 78 Quote
