What's everyone's favorite jerkbait? I ordered a smithwick but that seems to big for the waters I'm fishing. I think I'll try an xrap or a kvd but want to hear what you all think.

Don't know which model Swithwick you have but the Perfect 10 Rogue is the longest bait in the line.

But at 5 1/2 inches and 5/8 oz., it's definitely not too big for any waters that have a healthy population of adult large or smallmouth bass.

In the right conditions, at the right place & time, that bait is pretty good. All the Smithwick baits are and have been for a long time.

Give it a try before you give up on it.

Btw - I'm partial to the Lucky Craft Pointer line - the 100DD in particular.

I love jerkbait fishing and I have a lot of them but the Rogue is my favorite.

Megabass vision 110 and 110+1 are by far my favorite and catch more fish for me than probably all my other jerkbaits combined. Lucky craft pointers would be a distant second.

Ive had the best sucess with the Vision 110,ITO Shiner, also use Lucky Craft 112MR's from time to time.I wouldn't worry too much about size, a smallmouth will crush a 5"+ jerkbait without a problem.

Ive always found large jerkbaits to work better, even on the smaller bass.

The only thing better than a free dying meal to a bass is a free larger dying meal.

For largemouth bass, I'm biased toward the Lucky Craft Pointer 100SP

Now then, in weedy situations where exposed trebles are out-of-the-question,

I won't hesitate to use a "soft" swimbait, namely a Zoom 7" Magnum Fluke (smoking shad)

The general opinion is that Megabass onetens are the best and lucky craft's are a close second

I agree and if they keep thinking that that's all the bass will ever see. :respect-059:

Wow, a lot of options and opinions:) thanks guys! I think I'll just have to pick up a couple and try them out. When watching videos, guys stress to use them in clear water. At what point do you say the water is to stained or dirty to pull out the jerkbait?

Wow, $25+ for the megabass 110! That ain't happening

Do it! Ya only live once!

I lost my first vision 110 in less than thirty casts lol

I did shed a tear since i had caught 7 fish in those 30 casts

Vision 110 for me.  Have caught so many fish on them its stupid.   The paint jobs are one of a kind too.   I like the lucky craft flash pointer and staysee a lot too but if I had to pick a favorite it would definitely be the Ito.

The RC STX in French Pearl is always a producer for me, as is Pro Blue.

Ima Flit 100 for the suspending variety, Duo Realis 100F for the floating variety. I've also been putting the Yo Zuri 3DB jerkbaits to the test with really good results. Can't go wrong with the Lucky Craft Pointer 78
