Super User Senko lover Posted April 3, 2015 Super User Posted April 3, 2015 The How Do You Store Your Soft Plastics thread was freakin' awesome, and I wanted to get something going with tackle in general. Been tried before, but post up and make this a really good thread. Some of my favorite soft plastics This is the majority of my tackle. I keep extra soft plastics and 8 or 9 hardbaits at home. It isn't that much, but I'm still collecting 2 Quote
Alpha Male Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 This is a post i made in a previous thread. Here are some pics of just how much tackle you can fit in a cabelas magnum bag. I know there are a couple other threads asking about them This is a large bag and with everything in it I would say it weighs around 28-32Lbs. 2 Quote

Alpha Male Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Then you dont need to spend as much as i did to be organized. The cost was worth it to me though as there is a finite amount of space and i want as much in there as i can have. Quote
Alpha Male Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 dang that magnum bag looks sweet Its a great tackle bag. Fits a ton of gear. 16" worth of plano 3700's and 4 3600's. With more pockets everywhere. And even 2 tool holders on the outside. Quote

My thought though is if I have it, I want it on me. So I cram ask my jigs into a larger area, and I put 3, 4 even 5 cranks onto on area.. maybe I have to much.. 1 Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted April 3, 2015 Super User Posted April 3, 2015 My on the water Crankbait bag. And jig box, which has been filled in with lots of Santone swim jigs from the TW Xmas sale. 1 Quote

Joedodge Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Here's my bank bag that's always loaded and ready. Compact comes in at 8 pounds loaded bag included. I'm just about ready for any type of water with what I carry. I'll get a pick of my storage cabinet later in the garage 1 Quote

Super User Cgolf Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 My B and B bait box. It is a bit big to carry in the boat, but I pack it full on vacations and fill my bag from the picture above for each trip out on the lake. One side is 4" deep and the other is 6" deep. Each side has 96 spots for baits. Depending on the bait youn can fit multiple in one spot without a lot of tangles. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted April 4, 2015 Global Moderator Posted April 4, 2015 Most expensive tackle storage system I've ever bought. 5 Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted April 4, 2015 Super User Posted April 4, 2015 This identical fanny pack is with me 100% of the time inshore fishing. http://www.amazon.com/Everest-044XLD-Extra-Large-Fanny/dp/B001M5WQN6 On the belt is a sheath with my pliers, inside I keep 6 plastic lure boxes, for metal jigs, spoons, bucktails, top water jerkbaits, and plastic jerk shads with jig heads. I keep swivels and leader spools in the smaller pocket. I'm ready for about anything. In the trunk of my car there is a plastic 2'x3' apx with smaller boxes in it with all of my back up. there is also a box for my freshwater stuff kept in Rapala boxes that I just put in pocket when walking the bank. I feel I'm very organized. 1 Quote
Brnnoser6983 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Tackle JUNKIE... I have some other misc tackle that I haven't put away, and I am in constant rotation of where my tackle goes. When LTB and now MTB come in I have to reorganize. 3 Quote
Brnnoser6983 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I could probably fill up 3 more trays if I went single crank to slot..... Quote
papajoe222 Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Here I went out and spent big bucks on a Tracker for storing my gear and I could have saved a ton by getting eight or ten of those mag bags. Why do you guys always wait until the bait monkey gets his way before posting this stuff? Here I thought we were all friends. Friends don't let friends let the monkey win big. Anyone willing to trade ten of those bags for an overpriced alternative? Quote

When LTB and now MTB come in I have to reorganize. It looks like youre using the 2" thick boxes that come with that bag. You can get more in the bag if you switch to the 3701 boxes that are thinner. The only think that doesn't fit in the thin boxes are my buzz baits. Also if you wanted to you could get even more in with the 3771 custom divider boxes. Quote
Brnnoser6983 Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 I won't go customer divider. I don't see the need to go one lure per slot. I can curently fit 8 of the Cabelas boxes and 1 spinner. (I'm only using 7 boxes with an added spinner box. I found by not storing them upright, but laying down I can fit an extra box. With the thinner box I might be able to get an extra box in there but not attack the lures at tight in the current slots. Quote

The bag holds (at least in the upright posotion) 16 1/2 inches worth of any thickness plano 3700 series boxes. Quote

But a $70 bill to switch over. Defiantly something to think about, and when it gets more crowded something that I will look into. Thank you for the suggestion. Maybe I can do a local trade our hit the bay and find a deal. Quote

Yeah I suppose it would quite expensive to start over. I bought the version without boxes and just went to TW. When I first started I had 2 - 3.25" boxes, 2 - 2" boxes, and 4 - 1.38" boxes. Baitmonkey hit hard this winter and I have swapped the 2" boxes for 3 thin boxes to fit more in. The Custon boxes help the OCD in me that hates digging out a crankbait and pulling out 5. Quote
